these ebook series torrents are all the same ebooks in a given series (all series entries MUST be in order to be counted as "serified", otherwize they just go into grouped or SIP (series in process) Since many authors are still alive and releasing new books, I realize there may be new books released that should be added/the series extended, please feel free to email any new/corrections (or even questions/suggestions) to Marc@MarcAlan.info If you don't use calibre as a library manager, then the actual series field breakdown doesn't matter, skip this section What's in the series field for each book, you will see the series made up of the following info (Seperated by periods) Series Group Series Name Series Genre Series Index Series Suffix Cover Quality if you care to add them as user defined columns in calibre, they are user defined entries/columns in each epub/template/style sheet ie #enterseriesgroup #enterseriesname #enterseriesgenre #enterseriesindex #enterseriessuffix #entercoverquality all summed up (with the periods) in #enternewseries {#enterseriesgroup}.{#enterseriesname}.{#enterseriesgenre}.{#enterseriesindex}.{#enterseriessuffix}.{#entercoverquality} what does that buy me? (answer) lets me enter and edit the info, and when satisfied, bulk replace it in/to the series field so it stays with the ebook when propogated why bother? you can easily use the subitems function to break down the propogated entries seperated by periods for example #calcseriesa Calc Series A (group) {series:subitems(0,1)} #calcseriesb Calc Series B (Name) {series:subitems(1,2)} #calcseriesc Calc Series C (Genre) {series:subitems(2,3)} #calcseriesd Calc Series D (Index) {series:subitems(3,4)} #calcseriese Calc Series E (Suffix) {series:subitems(4,5)} #calcseriesf Calc Series F (Cover Quality) {series:subitems(5,6)} to populate my #enter... fields, when propogating i just copy the #calc... fields to the #enter... fields "group name" is my term for the first/top/heirarchical series name, i have "groups" like serified, star trek, doctor who, grouped, SIP (Series In Process), Battletech, Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, (and 57 more)
